If
someone wants to become a psychologist, they have to plan to stay in school for
five or seven years, which it depends if the student wants to do a doctoral
degree. To accomplish this degree, the student has to do a research. The
courses needed before doing this research is quantitative research methods,
statistics and computers. Each student who wants to have a job in clinics or
counselling setting has to do training where he will be supervised. Also, there
are some academic programs that require experiencing psychoanalysis training. The
student has to do some licensing exams, like essay or oral exams to see if he
has the knowledge and the necessary qualities to be in this field. However, the
student can find jobs without doing a doctoral, but he will be supervised by a
professional psychologist. Those who have a bachelor’s degree in psychology
have fewer options but they can work as psychologists’ assistants and other
parts of the mental health studies. Then, we can see that graduating from
school leads the student in a good way of professionalism.
A
philosopher, named Rene Descartes has separate human timescales in two
categories which are the voluntary and the involuntary where the field of
psychology is a part of the involuntary nature. Psychology helps to go further
with all the educational and correctional surroundings by helping people to
solve their problems. The attention and support of a psychologist have positive
impacts in the human being’s because he will make sure that his patient don’t make
a depression or have disappointments.
